About

LeePicHi, I’m Lee Lamberts. I’m in my early 60s (shhhh, don’t tell anyone exactly) and I’ve been a West Michigan resident my entire life. My first love, other than my wife, Ileana, and my three sons and many grandchildren, is baseball. I went to my first game in Tiger Stadium when I was 8 years old. For a kid from a small town (Kentwood, which is a suburb of Grand Rapids), walking down that dingy ramp and seeing all those green seats and large field (of dreams), was an eye-opener for me. I’ve been hooked ever since. A late bloomer, I was never good enough as a child to participate in sports, so I ended up as a sport writer. I do that on the side; my main career choice is teaching special education. I attend as many baseball games as I can, the team or park does not matter. I also golf and, as a tribute to my late father, sing on a Praise Team in my church, Friendship Chapel in Jenison, MIchigan. I can be very opinionated; I suppose that’s what this is for. Like it? Please stay with me. If you don’t, oh well.
